Sam Hiscock is a Southampton born artist and illustrator, specialising in realistic fine pencil drawings of animals and plants.
Sam has been drawing ever since he has been able to hold a pencil, with one of his very first pieces, ‘Fire trucks up a steep hill’ being completed at the age of just 4.
The interest in pet portraiture didn’t come until much later on when Sam was 15 and used to work for a man selling second-hand books on a market. The neighbouring stall was selling an array of pet related food, toys and beds. Sam would often cover the pet stall as the owner had other places to be (the bookies) and quickly realised that people in this country LOVE their pets.
From there on Sam started to take on commissions from people who wanted their dogs, cats, horses, parrots and tortoises drawn.

He graduated from Southampton Solent University in 2016 where he studied BA Hons Illustration.
